Job Summary

Providing preventive and corrective maintenance on systems as: furnace, boilers, HVAC, fire systems (suppression and detection), power generation, electrical distribution, water and sewage systems, building shell construction and roads and grounds.

Essential job functions

Perform maintenance on bulk fuel systems including dipping tanks, pipeline inspection, pumps, valves and filters; hydronic heating systems including exchangers, waste heat recovery boilers, pumps, piping and unit heaters; water and sewage systems including pumps, valves, piping and fixtures; handling system and environmental control units such as fans, pulleys, belts, louvers (no requirement to work on the halocarbon part of the refrigeration systems); building and structures such as doors, floors, stairs, etc.
Document and maintain facilities files as related to the work management system, work plans, field/incident reports, data analysis, etc.
Provide assistance to apprentices and other trades as required
Respond to emergency situations (unexpected failures);
Keep work spaces and general areas clean, orderly and hazard free; wear personal protective equipment
Prepare personal timesheets

Minimum Qualifications & Training

Highschool diploma or equivalent
OBM Certification or Class 5 Operating Engineers Certificate
3 minimum years’ of related experience (diagnostic and repairs), minimum, in a commercial or industrial setting
Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications on a variety of mechanical equipment, including manufacturer’s manuals and parts books
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
Standard First Aid trained with CPR Level A and hold a valid certificate
Must already hold a Reliability Clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Approval of security clearance by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate is a condition of employment
Hold a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license, or provincial/territorial equivalent
Customer service and detail oriented
Excellent written and verbal skills (English)
