The Navigational Aids Technician is a full-time, permanent role located in Southport, MB and reports to the Nav Aids Supervisor. Their primary focus is to perform maintenance activities on various pieces of equipment including communications, weather, airfield and navigational aids devices. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the installation and corrective maintenance of electronic components, airfield equipment and systems
• Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instruction
• Maintain equipment manuals, regulatory documentation and test/calibration equipment
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with Workplace Safety, ICAO and Transport Canada Standards
• Prepare and submit purchase orders for replacement parts and consumable items to maintain equipment
• Perform log-keeping duties consistently to create an accurate record of equipment history
• Attend training courses as required to obtain qualification on equipment
• Complete timesheets, work orders, estimates and equipment preventative maintenance forms in an accurate and timely manner
• Comply with all related policy, procedure and regulation
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of electronics training program

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• No prior experience necessary, however, experience in maintenance of electronic equipment in the aviation industry is an asset

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Interpret diagrams and specifications on a variety of equipment, including manufacturer’s manuals and parts books

• Willing and able to travel
• Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License or equivalent
• Able to obtain Radio Operator and Airside Vehicle Operator Permits
• Possess an Enhanced Reliability Clearance or be eligible to obtain same
